Actually this sort of defense system was introduced back in NBA 2K8. Basically left trigger locked on to a player and you use the right stick to shade the ball handler how you wanted.

I remember Czar did 10 teams in 10 days for 2K11. He basically broke down play books shown with gameplay. That would be dope for 24.

2K19 was the last of the simulation wrestling games and it’s sad. I’m Pretty sure they could’ve added most of the things that made 2K19 a sim into 2K23 without slowing the gameplay too much.
