That's just due to how buggy the animation system is in Frostbite that they resort to cheap unrealistic defending/shielding from CPU.

FIFA 16 for dribbling and realistic defending.

FIFA 18 for better and realistic CPU AI and pace(you can easily tell the difference between fast and slow player).

Holy crap Matt, excellent sliders. MLS finally feels like MLS now instead of Maldinis XI. I bet the FT slider was making it impossible to dribble properly. Thanks man!

Wow Matt that is bizarre. I am having the opposite issue of you. If I did the same thing with Ronaldo with the same sliders, they would barge me away and take the ball. Are you somehow on pre-patch...
