You have to either unlock them by playing or you can buy the accelerator and it unlocks everything.

idk if its your issue but sometimes you have to make sure steam is not open in task manager for controller to work if the games from Origin.

What I found was a lot of fun is doing a randomizer wheel and completely randomizing rosters and champions at the start of it. I might do that again or I might get a friend and do a little draft...
