It is best to run your games at 1080p on xbox to match the tv resolution for a better performance. Feeding it 720p makes the tv's upscaler have to work harder which hinders performance

The TV is showing you what you are outputting from the console which is 1080P since you forced it.

And it does not look better on 1080p. Do you not see the horrible soft like picture that lacks...

the exclusives to ps3 are not 1080p they are just buffered and not true 1080p

I think there might be a game or two that defaults to 1080p but i am highly skeptical that it does true 1080p and it...

If you have an xbox 360 and a tv that is true 1080p then in the xbox dashboard under the resolutions where it gives you the choices of 480p 720p or 1080I and P you choose the one that says optimal...

that is just the optimal resolution you are seeing on that local capabilities. Games are not made in 1080p format.

On xbox you can upscale all of the games to 1080 p and you should to match the tv...
