The catch slider improves route running and the catch rating, it has no effect on the throw away tendency, the reason this would produce less throwaways is because more receivers are open quicker.

Bottom line is 100 IG=Qb will rarely ever take off and will try and throw the ball away at all costs if he feels even a little pressure (sometimes even as soon as the play begins as you are seeing)....
