I think the reason the "support" thing came up is because when you get into these kinds of discussions, it naturally happens. Dan Fouts would be another great example...how good would he have been...

In reference to your 2nd "btw" Walter Payton had to go against some of the toughest defenses (including the Lions) ever. the vikings defense that he carved up for 275 yards had one of the best...

my point exactly. Only Bears fans or serious football fans from back in the day would know just how bad those teams were when Payton was drafted. No one is saying Barry isn't one of the best, I put...

I love this debate because I've had it soooo many times over the years. Yes....Barry was a Great running back...Yes Barry was a LOT of fun to watch...Yes Barry probably would have gotten the yardage...
