OK, so just to confirm...Coach Mode works the same in M19 as M18, correct? They didn't revert back to M17 and earlier when Coach Mode actually worked the way it's supposed to (aside from kicking)?...

As an avid coach mode player, I stopped playing M18 after the first few weeks, because I hated what they did to Coach Mode on defense. Even with the button pressed, as you mention, the player would...
