A good way to have the best of both worlds is to have the franchise mode difficulity based soley on ratings, and to have the 4 difficulty levels in play now and ranked online games.

Why would the 10 year old only be able to play with the Chiefs, Bucs, and Lions ? If the hypothetical kid plays with the Colts or the Saints, depending on how good they are, they could play agains...

How am I telling you the skill of the player doesn't matter ? Even if you're playing with Peyton Manning, you still have to make the correct read; you still have to get rid of the ball on time. Now...

Well, he can play against teams like the Rams, Bucs or Redskins.

What if the difficulty of playing a certain team depended SOLELY on their ratings. If we want the teams to play like their real life counter parts, then how realistic is it to be able to beat a team...
