Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Not even close. His body of work overall won't get many votes (if any). Being replaced as a starter for three separate teams is not Hall-worthy.
I will say, though, that at his peak in St. Louis in 2000, he had the most picture-perfect delivery and mechanics that I'd seen in years. He was like a how-to book for playing QB.
But when it comes to the Hall, the system-product vs sheer-talent conversation will always come up, and Warner will be viewed as a good talent, but not elite, that was in a very good system. Breaking his thumb and falling into oblivion won't help, either.Comment

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Why is this even a topic? He was good for like three years and then fizzled out.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Nope, but if the O-line protected him better in St. Louis and he didn't take as many body shots as he did he'd still be a front line starter in the NFL. His body took a helluva beating before he finally left the Rams.
He did have an amazing start to his career tho.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Ding ding ding, correct. Injuries did him in.Comment

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Mike Martz accelerated his break down, by putting him in so many empty backfield situations. If you're going to run five wides, AND have long developing routes that force the QB to hold on to the ball for a long time, well your QB is going to take a beating, especially if he's not a mobile guy.
I miss him on the Rams. Bulger when healthy, can make throws and put up numbers, but I don't believe in him as a leader. Kurt's departure began our return to bottom feeder status.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Warner was spectacular for two or three years but that's not long enough to be a legit HOF candidate. When he was on top of his game though he was as accurate as any QB I've seen since Marino. The key to the Greatest Show on Turf was Warner's ability to hit his receivers right on time in stride allowing them to get a lot of yards after catch.Comment

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
I'm on the fence about this one.
I know, I know.....the apex of his career only last about 4 seasons, but he qualifies for the all time records (completion percentage, QB rating, etc.) and he ranks up there in a few important ones.
Besides, name another two-time NFL MVP and Superbowl MVP who isn't in the HOF.
All of that has to count for something you would think.Comment

As it stands now he's kinda in the Bert Jones/Steve Bartkowski zone. They all had very amazing starts to their careers but got very ordinary very fast.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
I don't know. He was a SB and regular season MVP. I think the injury to his hand did him in. But he did have one of the greatest runs for awhile there. He probably won't make it, but I hope he does. He is one of my all time favorite players.Comment
