    Official 2011 NFL Predictions Thread

I saw the other thread for awards, but this one is about division winners, playoffs, etc

      NFC West:
      Cardinals
      Seahawks
      Rams
      49ers

      NFC South:
      Saints
Bucs (toss up between Giants and Bucs for last wild card spot)
      Falcons
      Panthers

      NFC North:
      Packers
      Bears
      Lions
      Vikings

      NFC East:
      Eagles
      Cowboys (wild card)
Giants (toss up between Bucs and Giants for last wild card spot)
      Redskins

NFC Champs: Saints (almost want to say Cowboys for some reason that makes me feel sick lol)

      Super Bowl: Patriots > Saints
      MVP: Brady

And my player related predictions that don't fall under "bold":

      - Sam Bradford's passing yards numbers go down in his second year, misses a few games, and people question whether or not they jumped the gun when they said he looks like the next great young QB.

      - Arian Foster takes a step back, but the Texans win more games.

      - Vince Young leads the Eagles to at least one win.

      - The Browns finish with a winning record.

      - The Falcons finish with 9 or less wins.

As for the Super Bowl... I think the Packers again. If not them, then an AFC team takes it.

My guess would be Packers vs. Patriots (Please have history repeat itself).

Before you call blatant homerism... My reasoning is the Packers bring back their team. Their players have the experience. There aren't many new pieces to be worked in, and although they have depth concern (hello D-Line) Capers schemes around it. Raji, Matthews, Hawk, Bishop, Williams, Woodson all return. Even if Woodson isn't as productive at corner, I highly doubt he will be in coverage TOO much as we saw Sam "NeckTat" Shields step up big time in the playoffs. If he can carry his confidence over to this year (and not look like he did in the beginning of last season) it will be huge. 2 potential pro-bowl caliber corners, a solid LB core.

The offense has Finley, the WR Core, and (as much as I dislike him) Ryan Grant. Teams will actually have to respect our ability to run the ball.

If the teams had more offseason time together, I would say the Eagles have a possibility... but I don't see Vick staying healthy the whole year. I don't see all the new acquisitions transitioning smoothly. As long as Vick is healthy, and coached by Fatty Reid, he will have a great year... but I still see them being a 10/11-win team at best.

But in the end... Jermichael and "Put Da Team on my Back" Jennings will find a way to both get their numbers as the Pack rolls to another SB appearance.

As for the Pack/Pats matchup I predict? It's a toss-up, both teams are strong and that game could go down to the very last minute like last years game. I know who I'm cheering for though.
