CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)

    Hi guys!

First of all, game is awesome!

I have a concern about CPU SP in my franchise. They are always getting pulled after 3-5 innings with a pitch count around 50, even if the game is close (example: Now playing against Astros, SP is pulled in the 3rd in a 2-1 ballgame allowing 3 hits!! It takes away from being realistic).

I tried to play with sliders by putting CPU Manager hook at its lowest and upped CPU SP stamina but nothing changes.

Am I the only one about that or is there something I forgot to manipulate?

    Thanks a lot!

I noticed it too.Had a 1-0 game and they pulled the starter after 4 with hook slider at 5.could be a problem.

Seeing this especially in the quick manage mode. Starters don't make it out of the 5th unless they have a shutout.

I noticed this too. Alex Cobb had a good game going against me and had retired 8 in a row heading into the 6th with a pitch count in the high 70s. They yanked him at the start of the next inning.

I was assuming that it was b/c it was his first start of the year and managers are often cautious about pushing pitchers early in the season.

It's not only in franchise. First game I played the CPU Collin Mchugh was throwing a no hitter against me into the 5th with about 50 pitches. I got my first hit with 2 outs and they yanked him from the game.

Same for me. I have a player lock SP in a carry-over franchise. IP for the 9 games I started in last year's game: 8.2, 7, 5, 9, 9, 6.2, 5.2, 9, 4.1. All the short outings made sense since I struggled in those games. The first 3 games I played on 2017, I was pulled after 4, 5, and 4 innings. I had given up 2 runs in the first start, none in the second, and 1 in the third.

I took the Rays into Fenway and faced Sale last night.

CPU yanked him after he walked the 2nd batter at the start of the 6th. And he had struck out the 1st batter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was 2-0 Rays at the time and his 82nd pitch gave up the walk.

I scored my runs in the 2nd. He had allowed hits but also had 7 K's at the time.

              IP 5.1
              H 7
              R 3
              ER 3
              BB 1
              SO 7

One of his runs given up was inherited in the 6th.

This game was given the Opening Day treatment so even more puzzling. Sale would be furious.

Pitchers need a "willingness to come out" stat. and most all of them should be high (as in I am not coming out of this game) for starters.

Re: CPU SP problem (anyone else has it!?)

This might explain what was happening to me in RTTS. I created a Starting Pitcher and in all my games so far (about 17 games) they pull me after 5 innings or sooner unless I have a shutout going. If I have a shutout going after 5 innings they leave me in until I give up a run then pull me immediately.

All of this disregards my stamina and pitch count. I barely hit 60 pitches before they pull me. To me this is unrealistic and also is ruining my potential stats as a pitcher.

This might be the same issue you guys are seeing since the CPU makes the call on when to pull me in RTTS.

I am seeing it also. I am going to try the hook slider this evening. Hopefully that resolves it.

I was playing Tampa Bay yesterday against Archer. In the 4th inning I hit a 3 run home run to take a 3-0 lead. Archer was at 42 pitches and the CPU pulled him. Its really dumb and if its happening in RTTS I am not going to start a SP anytime soon.

Happy to see I'm not alone!

I guess they are going to solve that in a patch (at least hope so as it wasn't like that last year)

Like I said, there's nothing (as far as I know) we can do as I put the manager hook at 0 and put SP stamina at full value.

                          It sucks.

I've noticed this a bit in cpu v cpu games also. Has anyone posted it as a potential bug?
