So....what happened? Did it actually bring him in? I've almost never seen that happen with a no-hitter going unless it was a scoreless game.

Bullpen doesn't really mean anything - I often see the pen get up a full inning before the AI actually decides to use the hook (unless he gets in trouble, then he might leave in the same inning). It's not like it would affect the pitcher's mindset to see the pen going like in real life, so why not have someone ready in case things go south? Better than it being forced to potentially bring in a cold pitcher (and us complaining about that next).

Verlander was at 69 pitches. They brought in a deliver with two outs in the 7th after back to back hits. It was 5-0 and I had one out and two on. Think he was at around 90 pitches when they pulled him

If i'm being honest i don't think that's too bad.It may be a smidge early but most guys get pulled around 100-110 even if there going good.I would agree for the big horses such as Verlander that them staying in a bit longer might be more probable.Baseball has changed in recent years to a bullpen game often times.

I'm actually pretty surprised it would do that. AI's usually going to let a guy with a shutout keep going until he loses it (in full gameplay). I think I would have liked to see it give him one or two more batters before pulling him in your scenario, but that's still not as bad as what we're seeing in the QC/Quick manage modes IMO.

          Thanks for the info.

I'm seeing this issue no matter what I do. QC on or off doesn't seem to affect it. Had guys pulled with a 12-1 lead (yes I was losing 12-1 [emoji58]) in the 6th with 1 on and 2 out and the SP at 70 pitches, tied at 2 with 80 pitches in the 6th, just blew a 2 run lead to make it 3-3 in the 4th with 2 outs. It makes no sense. I hope the devs are looking into this and have a fix in mind because I mostly play franchise and this is killing it for me right now. I'm just testing and learning to hit until OSFM comes out but hopefully they fix it quickly.

I don't think it's just a quick count issue and that's very unfortunate

                Okay...this IS a glitch.

Just played 5 games with the CPU Starter Stamina on 10 and the CPU Manager Hook on 0 and the starting pitcher was pulled after the 5th inning EVERY ONE OF THE FIVE GAMES!!!

I will be waiting for this to be fixed before I continue playing the game. I do have complete faith that the guys at Sony will take care of this in a timely manner...

AI will definitely let the starter stay in if they're throwing a shutout.
Although I agree with A&S and bcruise that some folks don't work count enough, I do feel that the manager is pulling starters with low pitch counts and low runs against too early. It seems to happen most games..rarely does CPU starter make it in to 7th inning even if pitch count not a 100. That said, I like that the starters aren't all pitching complete games too. I think perhaps a minor tweak by devs is in order.

Update: 2-2 game thru 5 innings and CPU starter had thrown 75 pitches. Stamina rating was 79 but had plenty of green left on meter. Yet was pulled for reliever to pitch bottom of 6th. Not sure that would ever happen IRL except during spring training.

So what do you guys think? As simple as something that goes into a roster update or full on patch?

Stamina changes will do nothing. If pitchers are getting pulled at half stamina that's not going to fix the problem.

Patch or nothing - and I really don't want to see complete game stats shoot back up because of this. That's the danger here.

I'm in a franchise game against the Mets. I'm not playing QC..Top 7 Matz has 69 pitches 0 runs and just gave off a lead off single for just 3rd hit of game and the Mets took him out. That's ridiculous. Really hope this gets fixed.

in 2017, 99-rating is 6-IP per start average.

80-85 stamina is 5-IP per start.

best option now is to rotate the LRP x 3-pitchers every other month.

If you up stamina, it will help the overall SP, IP #'s on the season.

this is an applicable work-around and I have spent hours simming things.

this way, CG will stay remain low.

also, a good sim slider set is 3/1/5 with osfm rosters from 16.

                          starter stamina/reliever stamina/ manager hook

Carlos Martinez had a perfect game against me in the 7th inning with a pretty low pitch count and the cpu started warming guys up in the bullpen.

                            Just plain silly.

I could be completely wrong, But I have tested several ways. The Manager Hook slider seems to have no affect on played game. I have tried it at 10 and tried it at 0. I played the same game over Indians using QC against Tex in franchise. Didn't save game and replayed it. I set the Manager hook slider at ten. I let the Tex CPU pitcher pitch. I never swung the bat. In game two I set it at 0. In both games he was obviously pitching a no hitter. They still pulled him before in the 6th inning..He did have a couple of walks in both outings.Never threw over 85 pitches in either game. I can't say if it makes a difference in sim games but in played games it doesn't seem to matter what it is set on. Just an observation. Take it for what it is worth or try it yourself.
When I do something right, No one ever remembers.

Not true. How come when I was playing the Ray's, Cash pulls Archer out in the top of the 6th and he has 2-0 lead and only has thrown 55 pitches.
