I started my franchise as the Indians and played my first six games against Tex and Arizona. In all 6 games I could not get a CPU starter to go more than 5 innings. In two out of three games against Tex, the starters were pulled after 4.1 innings regardless of the score. The longest a CPU starter went was 5.2 innings in a 0 to 0 game.

So I tried importing my franchise from 16 thinking this might just be an issue with the new franchise. But the same results after 4 games. I did get a CPU pitcher to go 5.2/3 in a 2 to 1 game I was winning.

I tried another game using a pitcher Grinkie from Arizona labeled as a work horse in his quirk and in a game that was tied 1 to 1 going into the fifth inning. He had struck out six and walked three had thrown only 68 pitches. With a man on second and two outs they let Grinkie bat in the bottom of the fifth. Then they brought in a reliever at the top pf the 6th. That is completely ridiculous. In another game they were winning 4 to nothing, ( I tried not to get any hits ) they still pulled there starter after six innings. he had only thrown 75 pitches. There is defiantly a problem here.

For me, This is a complete game killer. It takes the entire strategy out of the game and if you are a stat freak it ruins season stats. I have always loved the Show and it has been my favorite game. But this issue is big. There are several little issues like animation of bat contact on the ball, the third baseman acting like he is going to throw the ball into the dugout at times when an out fielder throws the ball to him and a few others.I can live with that.

I have tried setting the pitching hook slider to zero and changing the CPU starting pitcher stamina to 99. But nothing works. I can only hope this SP glitch gets patched immediately. If not, it's back to 16 or just season or live play. The dev team has always been pretty good about patching things, I truly hope they don't over look this one.

I'm with you. Can't play until this gets fixed. Really sucks because I was loving everything else this year

There is no issue with regular games. Not sure about quick manage but for regular games the AI logic has been terrific.

Smth along the lines of what bcruise said this could be a design decision (smth on the level of the playoffstamina issue). It's one not working well for many.

I would agree with this. The past couple years i been a Qc guy but it is nerfed with this issue, but i haven't had any issue's on regular In fact bullpen management on regular is the best ever in my opinion.

I'm facing Ubaldo Jimenez. After 5 innings, he's given up 0 runs, 3 hits, and has thrown 65 pitches. To start the 6th, the Orioles have two guys warming up in the bullpen. Why? I don't get it.

He got pulled after the 6th inning, same line but with about 80 pitches. Indefensible? Nah. But not really ideal for a regular season game.

You're still playing QC right? Just checking.

I agree that there's something wrong there. You saw my 6 games of that that I posted earlier in the thread.

Regular games and QC use different logic - that's why you can't change that option mid-game. The QC logic might be a bit flawed due to the CPU favoring matchups.

It's absloutly a QC issue, whether it gets resolved will see.Otherwise i love the game this year espcially the new animations.

Yep, I agree, I love some of the new animations, some of the new features. The game in general. If they fix the SP glitch, I would be happy. Some have said that the logic seems to be OK when playing a full game. Like you I play Quick Count. There may be other issues with stats or things, But I can't get past the SP issue.

I simmed some games and found that after a month or so the CPU teams bull pens are wore out. The other thing I noticed in games that I played is when they pulled the starter, they very rarely had anyone in the bullpen. And it seemed as though the minute they put in relief, I would start to hit like the reliever came in ice cold. This could be just a coincidence but it sure felt that way.

As far as the other logic goes in later, the CPU made some smart moves as for pinch hitting, pinch runners, bunting, and nighty vs lefty. If you sim a full season, I have found that the starters, with exception of a few fall way short of the ave MLB innings.

Some feel this SP issue is by design. I really hope not, if it is it may not be patched. But maybe it can be tweaked or adjusted. Sliders do not fix it. As a matter of fact, it seems the HOOK slider has no affect at all. Maybe it is broken..

I'm sorry for the constant updates (I know you don't care about my franchise!), but the Yankees just pulled Severino after 4 IP, 3 hits, 1 ER. His energy bar was half full. I can't imagine he had more than 55 pitches.

Something is seriously messed up. I am still using Quick Counts, so maybe that has to do with it? I have no idea. But a team pulling their starter after 4 very good IP, without an injury, is obviously wrong.

I'm a Qc guy too but i've switched to regular because of this issue. If you keep playing Qc it will keep happening i've tested it!Does it suck yes!But spamming the thread is not helping the situation i promise.I'm sure at this point SCEA is aware of the issue.

So this is a quick count issue? Cause I'm playing play now games and no matter what in the 6th inning CPU has double barrel action in the bully. Verland had walked one guy and had a no hitter going on to the 6th and as we enter the top 6 it said they had two guys warming up and tiger were ahead 4-0. So not sure it's just quick count issue

This also is quick manage mode as well. Guaranteed that if CPU gives up one run, pitcher is pulled in 5th or 6th. Doesn't matter the number of pitches.

Do you rember how many pitches he had thrown?I know even on normal pen is generally earlier but nowhere near the problem it is on QC
