The Snatchback Dribble Move is the Most Cheesiest Thing Ever

How the blue hell do you as a defender fly back 7 feet from a dribble move? No wonder people complain about this move so much. I love James Harden and the amount of space he gets isn't like this. Incredible.

The worst part is you get frozen, so when you contest it's far too late, so the possession was pointless.

A lot of the animations are way too drawn out and you fly several feet away. Look at a reach in foul and the exaggerated animations.

Every play is Hot Sauce on this game. Not every player is good at ball handling.

I think its ironic because people say it was even more effective last year. Kinda sad when you can get SO MUCH separation, yet people say "they toned it down this year, why would they do that??"

It's funny, I rarely use the move. But I've stopped it a few times. You just need to know it's coming. If a users doesn't do it for a whole game and then pulls it out at that one moment. Your done. But if you know it's coming. You can break the animation. You just have to press towards the offensive player on the drive.

But see why people want it out.

It's just like the hip riding animation. Everyone complained that the defender got to foul and bump you over and over. So they ask for more openness. @k adds the hip riding animation. We all know how that turned out this year (I'm personally ok with it).

not to sound like that weirdo jeebs who has a answer for everything but if you let go of r2 while defending its not as effective. you also got to anticipate it.

What was wrong with the step back last year that they had to change it to this ?

This. It was fine last year. Only problem with it is that it forced Ankle Breaker to trigger far too often. However, the mechanic itself was just fine.

Isn't that... What I just said? Without the R2 part lol. I don't have a problem with the move. Or the hip riding animation. Now should 2k put some more info out there for users to learn. Maybe.... I feel this is on the users side too.

Re: The Snatchback Dribble Move is the Most Cheesiest Thing Ever

The real problem is that sharps get silver difficult shots, so they can green these with HOF limitless and deadeye. They can have 3 badges stack on each other for 1 move. They can do this move from damn near half court.

Honestly, I've started playing EVERY sharp like he's a side to side pro. If he has a buddy screening him, I pick a side and have a friend stay on the other, give up the roll. If you're 1 on 1, always force him baseline. If he has the ball you stay in his jersey towards the middle using L2 as sparingly as possible. If he tries the snatchback you'll stay in his hip pocket. If he goes baseline he better be nice with hesi's, pullups, or reverses. All things things that are not HOF.

Chase sharps off their spots conceding the 2 points. If your buddies play good help you can take a high rated sharp out of the game by staying in his jersey all game..

If anyone knows how to successfully guard a WRAP then lemme know. Lol

Guys get great separation using this move in real life.

I play sim users all day in 12 minute quarters and guys stop it with no problem. At the same time, I still have my fair share of times where I get the separation clean for the buckets. It's effective when you chain it with nice moves.

Guys that play me know to expect it, and they defend it pretty well. Even when I play a guy I don't play often, they stop it there fair share of times too, it's NOT automatic separation.

Isn't it an automatic separation if you're holding L2? That's my issue....no offensive move should cause an automatic defensive reaction just because your holding a standard defensive button.

I get that experienced guys can defend it, but I'm not a fan of animations being tied like that...

To be honest bro I feel like it's 50/50. You can get separation from it, but I usually use it to chain together another move. I like to snatchback and go, or snatchback and double crosses, or snatchback, behind the back into a cross.

But there has been times where you get a good cleannnn snatch back Allah prime D Wade and MJ and gives you enough space for the jumper. In those situations I'm not sure if I just used it at the perfect time, or is it just "auto 2K separation" cause when I iso I read guys body language and go the opposite way, I like to use their momentum against them.

But the snatchback definetly gets you the most space for a shot out of any move in the game hands down.

You can smother somebody at the three point line and they can go into a snatchback animation that pushes you back like you got hit with a super punch or something lol

Forreal the step back was fine last year. It took legit skill and timing to be effective.

This is my experience with it on ProAM. I'm not the best defender but definitely feel like there are more than a few times where I can do nothing about it. Maybe I need to learn how to defend without LT

This game is like every fighter game if there was no block animations. If my opponent threw a 25 button press combo in 15 seconds and I can't block? Yeah, I'm gonna get smashed. It's like the game is only half a game. They forgot the defense part. Or they're intentionally leaving it out.

I really might be done with this series.
