MLB 15 The Show Simulates Game 2 of the World Series

The MLB 15 The Show simulation was correct last night, in picking the Kansas City Royals to beat the New York Mets in Game 1 of the World Series. Let's see how well it does in Game 2.

---------------------------------------------------------

MLB 15 The Show simulated Game Two of the 2015 World Series (watch the video here), and the Mets gave the Royals a dose of their own medicine, rallying late behind clutch hitting and aggressive base running to win 4-3.

The Royals led 3-1 after six innings, but Curtis Granderson hit a two-run homer to chase Kansas City starter Johnny Cueto in the seventh, and tie the game at three.

The Mets pushed across the winning run in the eighth. Yoenis Cespedes singled and moved to second on a walk to Lucas Duda. Michael Conforto hit a chopper in front of the mound that Royal pitcher Luke Hochevar fielded and threw to second. Duda went in hard to break up the double play and Cespedes, who never broke stride around third, scored without a throw to make it 4-3. Somewhere, Ruben Tejada was smiling.

Jeurys Familia came in and worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning, but it was not without drama. Kendrys Morales hit a drive that would have been a game-tying home run, but hooked just foul. Morales then took a called strike three.

The Royals pushed across a run in the top of the first, using an error, a single, two stolen bases and a walk to load the bases for Morales, whose sac fly opened the scoring.

After a Cespedes solo homer tied the game in the second, Alex Gordon went yard in the bottom of the fourth, a two-run blast that put KC up 3-1. Gordon would be the last Royal to reach base, as Jacob deGrom and three relievers set down the final sixteen Kansas City batters in order. The Met bullpen threw four perfect innings to close things out.

The series now turns to New York, and MLB 15 The Show will be back on Friday with simulation results from Game Three. Stay tuned.
