PGA TOUR 2K23 Created Course Thread

Creating this thread for the purposed of discussing and introducing user created courses for PGA TOUR 2K23 courses. The 2K21 thread of the same type was a very valuable resource for many of us.

I just played the first 9 holes at Walden Ridge and it's easily one of the top 5 user created courses I've played. My only complaint about it is it seems to be a bit heavy on its resource requirements and imposes a noticeable hit on the frame rate. If you switch the graphics setting to "Quality" on Walden Ridge, you're going to wind up with an unmanageable slide show... it makes for some great screen shots for post cards though.

I play the game in performance mode anyway, as that I haven't found a course yet that was playable in Quality mode. I'll be playing Walden Ridge in Performance mode in the days ahead though. I do wish HB Studios would at least offer users a pure 1080p/60 FPS option for Series X/S and PS5 owners. I would be so much happier with the game if they would. PC version owners are given the benefit of selecting everything from 720p@120 FPS to 4096×2160 @ 60 FPS+.

Thanks for recommending Walden Ridge. It's a keep for sure!

I've got to put myself on posting probation for a week now for posting this as a reply in the EA Golf thread originally, but hopefully this thread will help keep others from falling into that same trap.

Any hope for a photo or two when folks do a course recommendation?

(be fun to see for those of us who don't play the game, but are following along -- and great for those who do!)

You might have mentioned this but I forget now. What platform are you playing 23 on?

I don’t own it and am not playing it …. I do have a relative who is though. (On her PS5)

Still fun to see the courses, particularly good ones that are highlighted here.

I'm playing this on the PS4. I was wondering if anyone who played the game on current gen and last gen could comment on the difference in the visuals. I know that some who play on superior PC gaming rigs say the game looks pretty good.

Good representation of a sandbelt course.

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Created Course Thread

My list of 2K21 courses ported into 2K23:

- "The Bricks & Ivy Club"

- "Lothmoor Abbey"

- "The Loggerhead"

- "Charleston Muni Redesign" (real course recreation)

- "Whistling Straits (Irish)" (real course recreation)

- "The Bull Moose Club"

- "Brown Deer Park GC (Tour)" (real course recreation)

And just like the esteemed Onlooker Delay, who's an absolute gentleman and hero who should not have been treated as he was in the other thread, I will also be in a self-imposed exile from these boards. Only mine will be indefinite, likely forever because it's kind of a drag here now.

I might update the post with more courses if I decide to publish any new ones or port old ones over, but this all has sucked the wind out of my sails for discussion of all golf games. Hope everyone who keeps on discussing things here finds some way to enjoy it, no matter if you love 2K, EA, or even both - yes it's possible despite what others may say. And you can be critical of either or both games, and still want them to succeed.

Anyway, hit 'em straight, gang.
