I give up, I CANT hit in this game

I have tried EVERYTHING, turn on PCI, lower the level down to VET (last year I play in HOF) turn on or off the Guess Pitch, but I realized that everything has to be perfect in order to hit in this game, and even doing everything perfect still Im tired of too many foul balls or grounders, the only way to hit is guess a fast ball, guess the location and then 99% result in a home run. I feel really sorry for this game because it looks beautifull, and plays well, but SCEA is asking too much for me to enjoy the game, maybe I should try MLB2K9 because I love baseball and I need a baseball game but this is not it. I dont know about you guys, but all I have is 1 or maybe 2 hours daily to play 3 or 4 times per week, so, I cant waste any more time, because is not a learning curve, is broken!

what you need to do is be patient. i hit so good at times i think hittin is too easy but then i go on a slump and get only 2 hits in a whole game what you need to do is be patient and just wait for your pitch man you will get better dont just give up

Re: I give up, I CANT hit in this game

I completely understand your frustration, because I have felt this way myself at times. But if you really like this game, and can appreciate the level of realism and challenge it provides, you should stick with it. It is NOT broken, and there IS a learning curve. Stop focusing so much on whether you have the right settings enabled or disabled, or the perfect slider set, and just set your mind to getting better at hitting. Batting practice mode is a big help, not just in improving the timing and aim of your swing, but also in learning how to read the pitches as they leave the pitchers hand, and not swinging at everything that gets thrown at you. I can tell you that I spend as much time in batting practice NOT swinging at pitches, as I do trying to make contact.

Finally, know that even as you improve, the game will not become a home run fest. This is just not that game. The gameplay is much more sim-like than arcade, and you really need to decide for yourself if that's what you are looking for. If you just want a baseball game that lets you feel like you are fielding a team of superhumans who can't be beat, then this is not the game for you, and maybe 2k9 is. There's no shame in that. Not everyone who plays sports video games is looking for realism. But if you do prefer realism, don't give up. I've also only been able to play for a few hours here and there since I got the game, but I can definitely tell that my hitting game has improved. Take it one pitch at a time, watch every pitch as it leaves the pitcher's hand, and BE PATIENT. Or don't, and miss out on the best baseball game ever. It's up to you.

go into bp and bat against changeups. watch the ball all the way til you cant watch it any more. do this without swinging for 10 pitches then do it swinging for 10 pitches and come back and tell me how much better of a hitter you are.

your welcome in advance

So just because YOU can't hit, that means the game is broken?

Ooooookay.

Re: I give up, I CANT hit in this game

hitting is not that tough in this game. I actually have to adjust my sliders on HOF so I don't get TOO MANY hits! You will have to lower the pitch speed so you are able to differentiate between balls and strikes....this game is pretty life-like in the fact that you need to play it like a real baseball game...you can't give up on it. And there is now way SCEA is going to change the game for a few people...

Re: I give up, I CANT hit in this game

i play on legend and hit fine. pitchin im not good at but whatever. i guess what they need to do is make a teeball level thats lower then rookie. im serious. we had last year rookie veteran all star and hof. now they added legend cause hof was to easy for some players. maybe they should add a tee ball level or slow pitch softball level for the players that are very poor.

Sorry man.....the game is not broken because you are not able to hit yet.

I dont want to sound like an a$$ but if you were doing everything perfect.... you would not be fouling everything off.
