Ball Bouncing Off Pitching Rubber

Anyone else have this occur a lot?

In my past 10ish games, it's happened to me three times. At first I thought it was cool, now it's just annoying.

I admit, my hits up the middle are disproportionate to my other hits. Probably because I'm on Veteran and don't move the PCI much, instead opting to deliver that normal, middle of the zone swing.

However, the pitching rubber is a little too elevated in this game. And instead of the ball hitting it and getting some air, it bounces off the rubber and right back to the catcher for an easy out and on a few occasions, stopping my man at 3rd from scoring. Then again, it is rubber.

Re: Ball Bouncing Off Pitching Rubber

I just noticed this happening to me about a week or two ago when I was playing my friend. I thought it was a glitch at first, until i went back and looked at the replay. I've played about 85 games so far between 2 different franchises and that has been the only time i've seen it happen. May just be a weird coincidence for you that it happens three times within a 10 game span.

Its happened to me three times with Jacoby Ellsbury in the first eleven games of the season. Its incredibly annoying, because getting Ellsbury on base is a great way to start a scoring spree (he almost never gets caught stealing for me).

Yes! I have had this happen a few times.....the ball has hit the rubber and shot right back to the catcher...it has also shot over 1B into foul territory and hit the rubber and gone airborne into shallow CF....very cool...

It's happened a few times for me, but I haven't experienced it too much.
