offseason only. anything other than that and their ratings would shoot up way too rapidly

Keep in mind. They can put a CAP on the total amount per season.....

Also, the potential rating will prevent everyone from turning into OVR 90's rated.

IF progression works correctly you aren't going to see TONS and TONS of increases.

IF stats are done right some people will get better
SOME people will get worse

Look at real life. One player is the best you have seen one year. Someone else is the next.

IT CHANGES from year to year
AND sometimes from first half of the season to the second.

Look at the year the Giants won the super bowl. There is no way that team would have done it if they played the way they did the first 8 games.

I liked the way they did it on last gen. There was a progression during the playoffs in last gen too right?

I think there was after the playoffs but I wasn't sure so I didn't put it there.

I figured most people would just know what Last Gen was from playing it so much. I really have played it in a year so, so I don't recall.

you progress only in the offseason for madden 10.

I'm fine with only the offseason- you wouldn't want the players ratings to blow up by the end of the season if theres so many times to increase.
