Layup ratings adjustment(need feedback)

I was on hoopdata.com making roster changes and I saw an "and1" stat.

http://www.hoopdata.com/scoringstats...0&gp=40&mins=0

Lebron leads the league in and1's with 1.14 so he should have a 95 layup rating.

since I want 95 to be the max with layups I divided 70 by 1.14 and I got 61.4. Then I multipy 61.4 times the player's and1 stat and add 25 to it.

The reason I'm doing this is because the layup rating determines how good a player finishes with contact.

Is this a good idea??

Re: Layup ratings adjustment(need feedback)

Shot in traffic seems to only effect jumpshots.

I'm seein guards like igoudala and Lou Williams and Allen Iverson(editing the 76ers right now) makin and 1's all game, but Elton brand who is the best at making and 1's on the team doesn't make any.

I think this is because the layup attribute is unfairly biased toward guards because of the number of animations, but gameplaywise, Elton brand should be making the most and 1's on his team.

Really animation wise it shouldn't matter because ratings don't restrict signatures anymore, so it's not like Shaq and Brand and Dwight will be double clutch reversing the ball to get it in, they'll just be making more contact layups like the stats show.

Re: Layup ratings adjustment(need feedback)

Also, the layup rating doesn't effect how far from the basket the player can be to start a layup.

That depends on a players vertical rating, which is really inflated. Most big men shouldn't have over a 30 in vertical realistically.

So the types of layups the big men and guards do will still be the same.

Yeah, it was incredibly racist. It's a racist as your post was sexist.
