Empire Total War

Does anyone still play this? Its been patched up alot since the beginning and now it has a ridiculous Mod out for it called Darthmod. If you have the computer to run it, I highly recommend it.

Re: Empire Total War

Does that make the campaign mode better, or is it only centered on battles/naval?

It makes it ridiculously better. The diplomacy, the mix of units in each stack. You should see the number of additional units in this mod. Basically every distinct regiment that existed during this time is in. The AI uses naval invasions much better. You play on hard now and you will have to have game to pull out a victory.

The only thing I do is houserule out my own forts by destroying the walls of any city I own because they are too easy to defend.

Even if you only play the campaign, its very good.

Literally, this is now the game that I've waited forever for. It also looks like CA is going in a different direction, making games smaller and a little more scripted. It will be a long time for a game on this grand scale comes out again. and now with this mod, it's pretty awesome.

Literally, if this was $500 with this mod intalled, you would have to contemplate buying it if you like this period. You'll get that much play time out of it.

Make sure you get 6.0 first, it has an auto installer. Then you just have to add the 6.2 patch and load it through the steam client and you are all set.

Re: Empire Total War

I've had darthmod for a long time, haven't played it in months because I've been busy. I would HIGHLY recommend it. It makes the campaign much more difficult and made the battles better. The only negative is it can be fairly resource intensive and sometimes can be unstable (though the original empire was unstable for me as well). The Total War series has some of the best mods I've ever played, and darthmod definitely lives up to that. Latest version I have is the in the 5.x so I may have to download the latest.
