ONLINE PLAY is incredibly hard!!

okay, i know i may be setting myself up for some bashing, if so fine, i can roll with the punches, but im new to 2k and god, im must be playing against some guys that have played this game for years

what is the criteria for deciding who your opponent is online?
it seems random to me, or i just completely suck

my first 5 games (ive ever played online-keep in mind) ive lost by at least 24 points or more

ive played with Lakers 3x, and Heat an Celtics

ive been working in blacktop a lot for practice and playing exhibition games too to try to get better

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

it's hard to lose by that much with the Lakers or Heat man.. lol.. what are you doing wrong?

it is hard as hell to make 3's online though, that could be your problem? everyone I've played seems to be struggling at it too though so I'm not sure how you are losing by that much.. you can't force things on this game or it'll make u pay.

Game requires strategy for the most part this year which is good. Can't win consistantly by jackin up 3's and trying to drive baseline with LeBron. Try practicing running plays to get guys open. And dont be over aggressive on D i.e. Sprinting around trying to get steals while leaving guys open. If you play conservative on D, you shouldnt ever give up more than 40 points especially with the Lakers, Celtics and Heat

Run plays, don't turn the ball over, try to think a step ahead on defense by studying your opponents tendencies. and if you play with Kobe, Wade type players try to draw some fouls.

Just like last years game, online is hard for me because no matter how good a connection ive played on there is always that .01 second lag on your shots.

Its like you have to release the ball before your player reaches the top of his animation to make the ball come out right.

It is so frustrating i don't get it. In just about every other game i am able to "exploit" weak people from there own stupidity.

there is a lag delay it the controls which are completely garbage. It make it impossible to say in front of people when they just isomotion left/right and you move and run they by you.

I can never seem to get open on offense. In live i was to make quick passes/quick shots and just move around to get open.It was so much to get away from people, I cant do that here. Either gets stolen or they go into some animation which takes forever.

1. Turn on shot feedback. I think its in presentation or some weird area. It works online and off.

2. Stick with one team for a while.

3. Get good enough to at least beat the low tier teams on Allstar

4. Play a game where all you do is icon pass

5. sag off of anyone that isnt making shots

6. Using Deny ball on stars works because it delays their offense and few people go back door to stars.

7. Dont switch to onball defenders that are moving. Wait until they are still

8. Dont rush on offense. Even cherry picking takes skill.

9. Practice the post.

10. use zone in spurts to take your oponent out of rhythm

the lag is a major problem. I will cross someone over and have them beat.. but by the time it lets you make your next move, they already recovered. lol.. you gotta do stuff ahead of time n just hope it works. it's ridiculous.

and ball movement.. forget about trying that unless you want 20 turnovers.
