Hornet's new ownership bid falls apart

Sucks to be a Hornet fan. Bye Chris in a few years

George Shinn was set to sell a majority share of the Hornets to local billionaire Gary Chouest, but the deal has reportedly fallen through.

"Chouest didn't step up," a league source said. "He's not going to buy the team from George. It looks as if George will have to hold onto it."

The Hornets' ownership situation figures to have long-term implications for the team's attempt to surround Chris Paul with talent and keep him with New Orleans.

New York Daily News is the source?

Then that settles it.

Chouest will announce he's buying the team within the week.

I hope you're right because your team will be trash if Shinn stays the majority owner.

I just looked at who the story came from and once I seen who, I knew not to believe that mess.

Yeah. I'd say it's best to grain of salt the Daily News article. Or better yet just dunk the whole thing in acid.

I'm sure Pat Riley is already on the phone with Chris telling him to come to Miami when he's a free agent.

Yesterday we passed along a New York Daily News report that the sale of the New Orleans Hornets was dead, but that may just have been wishful New York thinking about ways to get Chris Paul.

Turns out the deal is not dead… dragging out forever, sure. But not dead.

Ownership transfers/buying usually takes time in most sports. If it happens looks for it to happen by the 1st game or by the end of the year imo.
