A defensive battle that served as a statement of sorts from both these teams, both defenses recovered two fumbles and had an interception each as both teams were frustrated on 3rd down and in the red zone, leading to just a touchdown and field goal a-piece leading into OT. In OT, Baltimore made a huge 3rd down stop and then drove down the field to kick the winning field goal.
Both teams were evenly matched until Sanchez threw a critical pick in the 4th quarter and Tomlinson fumbled the ball, giving New England the ball twice in great field position, from which the Jet defence allowed New England to convert into a touchdown and field goal to get the W and drop New York to 0-2.
The Jets defence very nearly cost the team the game after they allowed Miami to score 14 unanswered points between the end of the 3rd quarter and the 4th quarter. The Jets offense couldn’t respond and so the game went into overtime. Both teams went 3 and out before LT broke out a 34 yard TD run to give New York its first win of the season.
New York dominated possession of the ball in this game but needed a last second field goal to take this game into OT. Despite the length of time for which they kept the ball, New York was inefficient in the red zone while the Bills took their chances well. In the end Nick Folk was the hero as he first kicked the game into OT, then ended it with a 37 yard field goal in the wind.
Domination, that’s the only word to describe the way this Minnesota offense absolutely owned the Jet defense. Favre was able to pick up first downs with his arm when needed but the real catalyst was Adrian Peterson who was an absolute beast in the run game and ended the game with 148 yards and 3 touchdowns and an unbelievable 7 yard per carry average. This Jet defense needs to step up its game and the offense needs to find its groove.
For the second week in a row this Jet team was dominated, with this week being worse than last week. This week the offense were abysmal and Mark Sanchez threw 5, yes 5 interceptions as he kept being hurried and hit every time he dropped back. it wasn’t entirely his fault as the fact there was no running game didn’t help and neither did the o-lines weak protection. The defense offered no resistance to the Bronco’s offense and allowed Buckhalter to consistently gain 1st downs on the ground.
