The NFL has become Maddenized

Some interesting correlations between last night's Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers and the average Madden gamer:

Every play from the shotgun.

4 - 5 WR sets every play.

Tons of slants, seams and other routes targeting the middle of the field.

Screen passes instead of real run plays.

4:1 pass to run ratio.

Blitz every play on defense.

3-4 and 3-3-5 as base defensive scheme.

Your thoughts?

I would hope the average Madden Gamer hadn't started watching Football yesterday because this has been going on for the last 6-7 years already.

I think its more Madden adjusting to the NFL , rather than NFL adjusting to Madden.

It's called the offensive and defensive styles of those teams, not something that can be generalized to being the entire NFL. Packers run a spread and their #3 and #4 WRs are better than the Steeler defenders that cover them, and also takes the Steelers out of a lot of their zone coverages, creating favorable matchups. Steelers are a blitz-often hard hitting defense, that is their style and scheme.

If anything your attempt to take a shot at Madden just makes the game sound more accurate

Uh yeah no

What the Packers did was just the best way to expose the Steelers D

Steeler don't have the personel to play man , and the line though they held up they weren't comfortable with 5 and 7 step drops to get the ball deep.
