I'm not for video game genre monopolies, but they had to realize they weren't pushing the right buttons with these games anyway. Not since THPS 2 in my opinion, though I very much enjoyed 3 for what it was worth (and it was on PS2 and my first ever online experience).

Going to the board peripheral was a mistake. Make a new game, make it fast as hell, make it arcadey as hell, basically make it THPS2 with updated graphics and insane levels. Nostalgia sells.

Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if THPS was dead. Activision murders franchises.

That said, I wouldn't mind playing an updated version of Tony Hawk 4 or THUG.

I was really hoping skating games would flourish on this generation of hardware, and was looking forward to each game having it's own single unique massive environment to skate in...

But it just didn't work out that way did it?

I agree with you guys. I LOVED THPS 1,2, and 4. Never owned 3. I also enjoyed the 7th and 8th ones as well.

The underground ones had a wierd look and feel to them to me.. and I never bought and board peripheral ones

If only they put backwards compatiblity in all PS3s I could buy the PS2 games..

Or just make a new games with PS3 graphics but that feels like one of the first few.
