To Be The Best: The Life of Aaron Davis

Knights Slink Into Playoffs on Davis' OT Heroics
Defenseman's Big Slapper Downs IceDogs

Aaron Davis, the crafty captain of the London Knights provided all the scoring in their play-in game against the Niagra IceDogs, late in the first overtime. "I just saw my opportunity to jump up in the play, and I made it count." said an excited Davis.

"We're moving on the play for the Memorial Cup, what else can we ask for?"

Davis, a potential first round pick in this year's NHL Entry Draft has seen his stock fall over the course of a subpar season. At the end of last year he was a top 5 prospect, currently he is ranked 22.

Moncton Slays Knights to Capture Memorial Cup
Knights Captain Davis named MVP

The storybook season ended for London Thursday night as the Moncton Wildcats managed to edge them 7-5 in the final of Memorial Cup, which saw London easily roll to a 3-0-0 record and a spot in the final.

The lone win for the Knights was Aaron Davis capturing the MVP award. His 4 Goal 7 Assist performance was by far the best in the tournament. "It's a hollow award. I appreciate it, but where's the Memorial Cup? Moncton." said Davis.

Davis will now prepare for the NHL draft, where he is projected to be a mid-late first round pick.

Flames Select Aaron Davis 13th Overall out of OHL
Defenseman led London Knights to Memorial Cup Final

In an effort to replace Dion Phaneuf and add some size to the blue line, the Flames selected hulking defenseman Aaron Davis with their first round selection. Davis, a 6'6 247 pound behemoth has extraordinary offensive skills for someone of his size, and the agility to be an adept defender.

Projection: Top Pairing Defenseman, Norris Trophy Candidate

Rookie Davis Impresses in Preseason
Will start season with Calgary

Don't tell Aaron Davis most rookies don't start their first professional season in the minors. 19 Year old Davis put on a show in the preseason, amassing 5 points in 4 games, including 2 goals for the Flames, who announced today he'll start the season paired with Steve Staios.

"Aaron was our first round pick, and we want to see him develop his game, here with the Flames."
