Why don't WR's come back to the ball?

You would think after all these years, receiver AI would finally make it so that receivers would break towards the ball, instead of attempting to catch it on the run, allowing for the defender to make a pic.:brick wall

I very much agree. I hope they can fix it. This really irritates me.

Re: Why don't WR's come back to the ball?

WR logic as a whole in this game is atrocious. Normally I'm not so critical of the devs especially considering they've done so many great things with this game, but next year I really hope they focus some attention on tuning the AI of receivers.

I swear if I see another receiver run his route directly where a defender is instead of where space is, I'll lose it. I'd love to see them work in route adjustments depending on the coverage if possible, although I'm not too tech/game building savvy so I'm not sure how possible it is to get it right.

Re: Why don't WR's come back to the ball?

Gotta agree here. One of the first things I was taught at the high school and college level was how to come back to a ball. Its harped on so much it seems like common knowledge. Jumping is irrelevant if you WR never jumps. Sucks. Bummer little flaw in the game, but what can ya do.

Yes, this really frustrated me as well. Especially in my RTG QB. I've thrown many picks because the WR doesn't even try to get in front of the CB when I throw it deep.

I've user caught curls since 04 because of this. Throw it early, switch and come back.

I never really had this problem with last years game, but it's huge this year.

Yeah, it is horrible.

I personally hate it when you throw a post, your WR is open, and he drifts to the ball and allows the safety to come and pick it off.
