(Franchise Mode) Who are you editing, how much?

Just curious, how much do you guys edit and who?

I edited Cam Newton and a few other real players. But I find I am editing the rookies a little more.

I am in year 2 of my Franchise and I will edit a few players on CPU teams to help them out. I gave the Bills a stud QB after they drafted a pretty good player 1st overall. I also make a few unique players to give life to the Franchise (created a super quick HB for a team and a beast DE for another, etc.)

The only editing I have done to benefit my team was I made my dream QB. I found a B potential player with a good pic (very important ) and he was from my alma mater (North Texas) so I edited him up to have A potential then lowered his ratings back down. I did amp up his ratings a little. I always try to develop a QB in my chise and now that we can edit players I can edit a guy to my liking instead of importing classes for hours. I just found a good pic/ht/wt combo and then set the ratings to be in line with the other top madden generated QBs.

I am REALLY glad this option was added this year. How are you guys using it?

I have, and I wish I didnt, the Vikings drafted a decent scrambling QB in the 2nd rnd and came outta the draft with 96 THP with short, med, and deep throw ACC 78, 62 and 68 so I balanced it out 78, 72, 78. and upped his confidence and consistency to 4 stars each, and he was already clutch. In 1 year he's Cam Newtons arm with Brees accuracy and Aarons legs. I've never really liked the Vikings and I just wanted to make it interesting and now its a F**KIN greatest show on turf up there with him and AP.

Re: (Franchise Mode) Who are you editing, how much?

I upped cj2k's fumble rating. the guy has only fumbled like 4 or 5 times his whole career, he shouldnt be fumbling it 3 times in my first 3 games.

Re: (Franchise Mode) Who are you editing, how much?

I upped Colt McCoy's THP to 85 from 80. The lowest THP on the game is like 77. With an 80 THP despite having high 80's for Short and Medium accuracy most of his passes would take too long to get to the WR or be thrown way out in front to account for how long it took the ball to travel. That made it look like I was throwing the ball to a defender rather than trying to hit my WR in stride. I could not even throw slants with him at 80....

Also before I edited him I simmed through a season to see if THP would progress. It did not so I am not sure if THP ever progresses.

Re: (Franchise Mode) Who are you editing, how much?

I export draft classes, so some of the rookies need some lowering... Scratch that, almost all the rookies need lowering. I am in year 4, and there were two rookie QBs that I remember from NCAA, Jason Adkins UNM and Andre Cowan out of NM State, both had great college careers and both were 4th or later round picks and both drafted by the packers... I edited these guys to give them a future, high A potential with a low 70 overall. Andre Cowan was eventually released though as they already had 3 QB's on the roster............

What I also do, is look for bad to average players who had a breakout year, and edit there ratings to accommodate for the non-progression.

Funny to see everyone's replies and philosophies.

Rumblestud, I almost did the same thing for the Bills QB. I wanted him to be really good (I like seeing bad teams get good) and he almost turned into Randall Cunningham and Joe Montana's love-child. Had to edit down his consistency.

this will balance out the depth charts

18. Go to Player Management and select Team Captains
WHY? Cause these are the players at the coin toss u don't want benchers out there

all personal pref here.
NOTE:You can't edit "?"/rookies/fakes till after preseason :cry: :shock:

why? = Cause now these 2 players will say 2nd String and 3rd String this is important
for simulation reasons and auto sub reasons [don't forget to set your auto subs ]

POS that need to be balanced [LT,LG,RG,RT,LE,RE,LOLB,ROLB]

21.Players needed to fill req. after UFA Fakes are Cut [if you released the correct fake ones you
will have these left over don't cut real rookies

HB= TEN
T= ARZ IND GB
G= SD IND ATL SF GB OAK STL NO
C= OAK NYG
DT= ARI SD DAL MIA GB BAL HOU
FS=GB

22. Next Save File as
NFLwk1.fra <-- Save to restart season
NFL.fra <---- Season to Play
"Your Team" ex. Patriots.fra <--- Your Team's Franchise

you will basically make a league template with changes as default

23. Now Sim the Pre-Season if you wish to do so but when Pre-Season is done do not forget to edit the rookies

Print out a sheet of Rookies Names for a reference. Edit them if you wish.

Next Save File as
NFLwk1.fra <-- Save to restart season
NFL.fra <---- Season to Play
"Your Team" ex. Patriots.fra <--- Your Team's Franchise

24. Then simulate the season and look for any glitches bad stats etc.

If not move on to Pre-Season and test that as well.

If you have time Simulate the Season again on Year 2 now.

25. If there is no problems then load the file of your choice below
NFLwk1.fra <-- Save to restart season
NFL.fra <---- Season to Play
"Your Team" ex. Patriots.fra <--- Your Team's Franchise

Enjoy! You earned it probably take a good 7-15 hours or more :shock: if you really your picky , ocd , etc :P
I simmed some seasons and the stats were pretty good don't forget about coach schemes
