Time outs and inbounding

Hi,

I just have a quick question about NBA rules and NBA 2K. I can't figure out sometimes how the time outs and inbounds work.

Say the opponent just scored, they have a 1 point lead there is 6 seconds to go in the 4th quarter. To inbound in the opponent half should I inbound the ball and call for a timeout, call a timeout straight away? A lot of times I wasn't able in 2K11 to inbound the ball in the opponent's half and I'am not sure why. Do 20 seconds or full timeouts matter on this ?

Thanks for the help.

You Should Be Able To Get It At The Half After 2 Mins. In The Fourth As Long As You Dont Dribble Or Try To Pass It To Advance You Can Get The Ball At Half Court After The Timeout

Ok maybe it's just me then but a lot of times I was inbounding the ball in my own half.

Didn't the NBA change that rule? So that now you inbound in your own half? I think I've read it somewhere, but don't remember for sure.

Re: Time outs and inbounding

If an opponent makes a shot within 2 minutes of the end of the game, you must call a timeout before anyone on the team makes any motion towards the ball.

You have to be prepared just like a real team does. You see the basket go in, without any hesitation you call a timeout. The ball will then advance to the half-court line and you can inbound from there.

Hope this helps.

Re: Time outs and inbounding

Allright, so if I wait too long and my player is already at the baseline for the inbound it's too late and I won't be inbounding in the opponent's half after the timeout?

I didn't know that, thank you.

That happens in 2k11 too? Wow. Nice.
