Injury Facts For Slider Makers

Since I get a lot of enjoyment from the work that you guys do, I try to help you along by doing some research of real world NFL data. My latest thing has been injuries, and the results were pretty surprising. Here's the numbers:

2010(Weeks 1-16)
3191 total injuries reported

-Of those 3191
1919 were considered "Minor" less than 8 days

633 were considered "Moderate" lasting between 8 and 21 days

639 were considered "Major" lasting more than 21 days

2011(Weeks 1-16)
4493 total injuries reported

-of those 4493
3,113 were considered minor

739 were considered moderate

641 were considered major

So, over the course of two NFL seasons, 7684 injuries were reported. Considering that over those two seasons there were 1024 games played(32 x 32) that means that on average, there are 7.5 reported injuries PER GAME or roughly 3.75 per team per game.

Good info! I always feel like there's not enough bangs and bruises. I wish Madden had a slider for injury severity like 2k basketball games have.

Only thing i'd say, is that players probably get reported for quite a few injuries from practice, as well. Unless you did a search that only took reports from after the game, somehow.

But, i'd be willing to wager at least 25-30% of those weren't sustained during an actual scheduled game.

I just simmed a year with the injury slider at 65 and didn't really see much. In fact, probably half the teams were showing 0 injuries each week I checked.

These were all injuries reported after games.

Man nice info! I had my injury slider at 50 and some thought they were seeing to many. As long as its miner most of the time then around 7 injuries a game would be realistic.

Try these:

With fatigue at 60 and injuries at 55 I am seeing plenty of both
