Re: Dunk Contest

THE WHOLE THING IS STUPID.. You can perform an ultra hard dunk.. I suggest the reverse touch the back one (it's hard enough to able to finish the dunk) and get just a few points more than doing a perfectly good simple dunk.

Also there was that one time I attempted a dunk that was previously just done by another player, the commentators were talking about how lame it was.. and yet i got 80 for getting the dunk perfect..

and how about using Michael Jordan to do the behind the line dunk and have the commentary says that he's imitating the michael jordan dunk after Michael Jordan just dunked it!??? LOL

HAHA I USED TO LIKE THIS MODE (for a total of 3 hours) THEN AFTER COMPLETING ALL THE DUNKS I FIND THE MODE TO BE A TOTAL AND COMPLETE JOKE!

I just played to get the achievement, after that I don't think I'll play the dunk contest much.

Re: Dunk Contest

I have an issue with the new button system. NBA 2K eschewed the former system, where gamers controlled their player throughout the entire dunking process (including choosing takeoff type and manner of finish), and instead created what was supposed to be a user-friendly process of selecting a dunk before-hand then inputting a button pattern to earn the right of watching a dunking cut scene.

I feel the new system has a mastery curve on par with anything the former system provided. Through three contest runs I can usually complete simple dunks, with varying scores because I don't know exactly when I'm supposed to press the buttons (I'm getting them right but my score is suffering due to not being right enough), but I'm struggling to finish difficult slams, particularly ones with any analog twirls. I mean, I think I could become better, but it's definitely not something a random person is going to walk into your house during a party and pick up right away.

Point being, to remove the old controls (where gamers actually were in control of the dunkers on screen) in favor of adding what were supposed to be easier controls that people could just pick up and succeed, only to make the new system almost just as difficult, feels like a poor change of direction. I'd like this mode a lot more with the old scheme combined with the new environment and improved hand-rim-breakaway technology.

Re: Dunk Contest

Don't get why the dunks are rated out of 100. It should be out of 50 and you should be able to get multiple attempts in the same round in a time limit.

Not to mention 2 dunkers have to be eliminated, so this dunk contest is purely for show and is unrealistic.

Re: Dunk Contest

I like the dunk contest. I just think it's fun. We haven't had a good dunk contest in a long time so I really enjoy this, though the scoring may be a bit off. It's scoring you, not the dunk.
