Retirement And Bonus Money.

I got a QB on my team, signed 6 Mills a year with bonus money of 3 mill a year. He's 32 and signed him for 6 years. Is there a possibility that if he retires before the contract expires, does the bonus money continues to affect the cap although he's retired, not released or traded?

In my Packers CCM I had Charles Woodson retire with a couple of years remaining on his contract and I did not get penalized for it.

Don't take my word for it, but I'm pretty sure you retain the salary but lose out on the bonus money.

The way I've understood it is that you're on the hook for however much bonus you still owed him if he retires.

So if my player retires two years before his contract end, i still have to pay his bonus and will affect my cap for the next two years?
