Eidos Montreal has been working for years to reboot the classic stealth series Thief, and the fruits of its labor will finally be revealed in issue 240 of Game Informer Magazine.

Our April cover story is a world-exclusive look at this next-generation stealth title. Series hero Garrett returns to the Gothic, industrial metropolis known simply as the City to steal any and everything that will make him richer. Unfortunately, the City is broiling with social tension as it is ravaged by a plague and lorded over by a political tyrant known as the Baron. In order to survive his adventures, Garrett will have to pay attention to his environment and make use of the may possible paths through each of the game's levels.

Square Enix plans to release Thief for PS4, PC, and other next-gen platforms sometime in 2014. Check out our coverage trailer for a taste of all the content you can look forward to absorbing over the next month.

After Eidos Montreal's sequel/reboot with Deus Ex I'm extremely excited for this.

I'm sure you'll be able to turn it off like in Bioshock or Dishonored.

Re: Thief (PC/PS4/Next-Gen Xbox?)

I remember being able to turn off object highlights and objective locators in DXHR.

Focus Mode sounds to integral to be able to just turn it off though, buy I'm sure there will be options to lessen its effectiveness.

Re: Thief (PC/PS4/Next-Gen Xbox?)

The problem with just 'turning it off' is that these modern games are designed around the helpers and such. For example, in Skyrim if you remove the quest compass, npcs don't even give you enough info on where to go, ect..

I loved all the thief games on pc and am glad there's finally some update on the status on Thief 4. I had assumed once Montreal finished and published Deus Ex that we'd soon see some info on T4, it took to long.

OMG!

Loved Thief! Dishonored was the first game I actually beat in like 5 years.

Can't wait for this, Carvo who? Garret all the way!
