Online Quitting

2K, I beg you to do something in 2k14. This online quitting is getting out of hand. It ruins your online experience. You could be not even 5 seconds into the game on quick team up and people are dropping like fly's If I want to play the computer then i would just do offline. Instead of wondering if people are gonna quit, its more like how many. I play alot, and i think 1 out of so many times has it been a 5 on 5 all human players. Maybe create different rooms. Or if they quit so many times, don't let them back on for so many days. And it just messes it up for the people who wanna actually play the game. Or do like call of duty black ops 2 does. once someone leaves replace them with someone else if its not past say the second quarter. Let's face it some people are good at the game and some bad. But who cares. I rather have someone who stays for all 4 quarters.

Re: Online Quitting

How about having a penalty system for people that quit. (e.g 2 losses on the record instead of 1). 2K don't penalize people that quit a teamup match when their point guard is dribbling around and does not pass the ball. If they want do that there is something called a ''quick match''. 1 on 1. As for quitting goes, man, there is always going to be quitting, you can't really stop it, but you can penalize or reduce that from happening.

Re: Online Quitting

The veto system helps with this by giving people the feeling that they have some input on the matchup. And it does help to skip some of the ridiculous matchups that make people quit almost immediately (seriously why is Miami/Orlando a matchup?).

The downside of it is that you rarely get to play with the middle-of-the-pack, or just flat out bad teams. You end up playing with the Heat, Lakers, and Knicks A LOT.

In the end though, you can't really force people to stay in a game that they don't want to play. I wouldn't mind there being a "drop % rating" that's visible to everyone else. At least you'd have a heads up if someone likes to quit a lot, and the fact that others can see this just might be enough to convince guys stick it out until the end.

Everybody is right on the money. I've seen the same teams. Instead of miami and orlando, why not chicago and spurs or miami and chicago or sacramento and chicago or knicks and golden state, etc, etc. Switch the teams up. Showing everybodys drop% is an excellent idea.

Taking a page out of EA Sports might be helpful. The DNF % (Did not Finish) should be shown right underneath the person's profile that way you can quickly identify who is going to play the entire game or who is going to bail.

Doesn't matter. People are going to quit regardless when they don't get the player they want. They are too many people who are superstar or bust in teamup matches.

That was why I liked the 5v5 myplayer mode in NBA 2K11 before the hacks became rampant online. The only time most people would quit was due to ballhogs, connection, or they wasn't man enough to take an *** whupping.

Re: Online Quitting

All they need to do is have lobbies where you can challenge someone. On there it needs to show your quit %.

Your quit % should be calculated as how often that player quits when losing. Otherwise you could still be matched up against someone that wins quite a lot and quits when they are losing which might be < 10% of the time.

The other option is if they are going to do what they did this year and just connect you with someone else when you go for a quick match then I should have the option on my online profile to NEVER Match any player with a quit % of 10% or more (or whatever your chosen % is).
