Unhappy Aligning my defence to offence in man to man coverage

I did a search first, and did see an answer for this question. My question is, when I am at the line of scrimmage in a man to man defence, sometimes (for instance) thelinebacker covering a tight-end os on ethe opposite side on from him. I thought there used to be a button to hit that would line him up opposite. In my Bengals franchise game last night, playing the Patriots, the Pat's completed a 37 yard completion, in part because the guy covering him had to cross the entire field to catch up to him. He was WIDE open, caught the pass, and ran for ten yards before my LB cought him.

Any help would be appreciated!

It's Man Align, up on d-pad and then R2 or RT on 360.
