Developing Young Players

I'm playing with the Wild and all of my players seemed to flame out early. Parise was off the top line in 2-3 years, Granlund got maybe 1-2 overall points better, in 5 years, I had no elite players after Suter left. I drafted a few players that were listed as elite but after a year or two in AHL, they were down to a Top 6 Forward or Top 4 D and kept falling.

Am I missing something with player development? How can I succeed with youngsters?
