"Zero-Player" Racing Games?

For those unaware, a zero-player game is named as it is because ideally, there are no actual players involved. In football video games, you can watch two teams play, even your own dynasty/franchise team. In basketball and baseball, same thing.... You get the idea....

My question, are there any racing games I could like download on computer that either just let me set up and watch races? Could be NASCAR or anything else too. Is there a game where a career mode can be pursued through zero-player gaming?

With rFactor (Haven't tried rFactor 2, but I imagine it is the same) and NR2003 you can essentially do a zero player game. Both you will have to enter as a player but you don't have to do anything and the race will start without you if you choose to do so.

Cool. Is there any way I can get my "player" involved in a career? Otherwise it sounds like I'd just have to watch the rest of the pack race, which would be okay too, lol.

Those games have a editor for driver ratings and what not. You create a guy and have him compete and then just select your car as some random useless car.

rFactor has a control where the AI will drive your car as well.

Project cars allows you to set up races and watch them. I've watched a few while eating dinner. lol
