The Push Foul: The Origin of Off-Ball Charges

I wanted to ask about the Push Foul. As shown here:

In establishing my position for the rebound, with practically zero momentum, and no part on the other player to knowingly attempt to draw a foul I choose to push the other player to the floor...

As you know, this occurred often in 2k15 and no foul was called.

What is this? Why is it in the game? Should it be in the game?

Here's a bonus clip of me morphing from an off-ball charge into a poster:

This push animation usually happens when you press, slightly press, or think about pressing the turbo button when trying to get in position for a rebound. Sometimes you let go 'too late'.

Not a fan of the call but also its not that bad. The call where you play good defense on a drive and then get called for a blocking foul is more annyoing.

Walk on is the worst mode in the game. Its like all the morons/scrubs/leavers club gathering.

If they toned down the push foul and upped the over the back foul, I could live with that. it would even the playing field for non 7'3" center players like myself (6'11" PF)

Re: The Push Foul: The Origin of Off-Ball Charges

The whole taking charges in the paint as people move from one side to the other is wack. I don't recall people using it like that until this year. Maybe because they were all too busy holding their balls under the basket... but yea you don't need any momentum. That stuff needs to go in the next game.

The only way you should get that call is if dudes are running in a straight line down the court and you are in front of the basket.

They at least need to add a high rate of blocking fouls. I dunno how they let stuff like that get in the game. You shouldn't have to tiptoe around the paint, IMO.
