FIFA 17 Beta-Gameplay

Hey guys,

I found a video of someone who got the game early in the beta program:

Re: FIFA 17 Beta-Gameplay

Watched so many user vs ai games on youtube.

Trying not to get excited because 16 beta gameplay was great and then patched into a mess.

But wow, the AI is playing more like a user, I am shocked. They really are using some of the user based skill moves finally, they are shooting more, flubbing passes and tackles, i saw one of those dunched shots that afflicted the user too often last year happen to the cpu.

Overall I am just seeing way way less of a division between what the cpu can pull off vs what tools the user has always had.

Only gripe I have is the ball is played along the ground way too much. I rarely see any lobbed balls in the vids, just shots and the occasional cross are the only times it is leaving the ground.

FIFA 17 Beta-Gameplay

A few short videos:

First legit goal (I had a rebound goal before but it was nothing worth seeing):

Using the new low kick mechanic:

Some nice, albeit lucky, build-up thanks to some smart cuts from the AI:
Spoiler

First corner kick goal (also features the new manager reactions at the end):
Spoiler

The corner kick is my favorite one even though I didn't even end up using the player that I was controlling. Haven't been able to have a goal off the corner like this one in a long time.

I'm not sure if it's a fluke or not, but Man U is playing drastically different from Liverpool. Liverpool kept trying to kill me with lob passes over the top of the defense whereas Man U is playing very methodically.

Re: FIFA 17 Beta-Gameplay

Were those 2 missed shots off the woodwork or the game just registers misses no matter where they are, on the outer relevant edges of the goal frame symbol?

Re: FIFA 17 Beta-Gameplay

Still looks like a lot of dribble-dribble-dribble-pass mentality by the AI. That first goal was a product of some very passive defending. Still thinking we're going to get a great game though.

I can't remember. I was trying to figure out the same thing.

Man U was definitely playing dribble dribble pass. Liverpool was going for the long ball basically the entire game that I played against them though. It seems to me that the AI is much more willing to play long through balls than in the past.

Rooney had a gorgeous goal against me. Someone from the wing played a long through ball into Ibrahimovic and he sort of tapped it on to Rooney and he kicked it on the first touch from the corner of the box and hooked it in.

I had another game that was US vs. Netherlands though and the Netherlands played basically like Man U though.
