Icon11 Black Mirror (Netflix series)

I can't believe there's not a thread for this yet (and yes I did a search!).

Have you guys watched this amazing series on Netflix yet? Season 3 just dropped..

Take Twilight Zone, horror, drama and technology and mix them in a gumbo stew and that is this little gem, one of the best series I've seen in a long long time.

I watched the first 2 episodes from S1. Not something that can be binge. It's too dark and makes you think too much for all that mess.

The utopia and the pig episodes. This world is screwed up!

Some weird stuff, but overall doesn't touch The Twilight Zone. That being said I didn't realize that season 3 just dropped on Netflix-I'll definitely be watching.

Re: Black Mirror (Netflix series)

I'm never ready when I watch an episode.

I haven't got to season 3 yet but my buddy has been saying how great the score is in each episode.

"Ep 5 'Men Against Fire' is scored by Geoff Barrow and Ben Salisbury of Portishead who previously scored Ex Machina. It is synthy and sinister and unrelentingly badass.
Ep 1 'Nosedive' has a hauntingly beautiful and ever-present score by the immensely talented Max Richter who does the painfully incredible music for HBO's The Leftovers as well as the films Waltz with Bashir and The Congress.
And finally Ep 4 'San Junipero' which I just watched tonight and may be in my top 5 hours of television I have ever seen. It is scored by the legendary Clint Mansell who did Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain and Moon.
Holy crap. The bar has been raised."

Re: Black Mirror (Netflix series)

Season 3 Episode 4 San Junipero may just be one of the most incredible, amazing and thought provoking one hour I've ever spent with an episode of television viewing.

Perhaps some of it is 80's nostalgia, the issues that it deals with striking home close to me and yes I know this episode is not dark and gloomy in some of the ways that most Black Mirror episodes are but WOW!!!!!!!!!! That's all I can say is WOW!!
I watched it again last night with my wife and it's definitely worth a re-watch after you know the entire story.

And that ending...wow, it's not over when the credits roll, what an ending!

I will be honest, it's very rare, like once every 10 years rare, where I actually FEEL something from watching a tv show or a movie, I mean really feel it as in I have like a feeling from within where I am touched and that episode, well I was surprised it did it the first time but was amazed when it happened on the re-watch.

I don't know, maybe it was the music and just how the entire thing ended but I was blown away...

Here's some insight into San Juniperos ending, only read it if you have seen the episode though as there are spoilers

I watched the 3 episodes in S1 last week, very good. I loved the third episode, The History of Us.

Heart breaking, as many of the BM episodes are. As someone said up above, this is a tough binge watch because of the emotions and issues this show raises.

Have you seen any of Season 3 yet?
