Madden NFL 18 will support both 4K and 1080p resolutions on the PlayStation 4 Pro at launch. Unfortunately, EA has no announcement at this time, regarding HDR support.

There was nothing specifically mentioned for the Xbox One S or Xbox One X at this time. Check out the official word GameSpot received from EA below.

“Madden NFL 18 supports PS4 Pro at launch in both 4K and 1080p, with no update needed. If a gamer chooses to run Madden NFL 18 in 4K, they will see improved resolution, if they choose to run the game in 1080p, they will see improved framerate in certain areas of the presentation. Core gameplay will render at 60fps regardless. We have no announcements to make regarding HDR support at this time.”

This sounds very similar to MLB the Show. Let me translate. During cutscenes 4K will stutter pretty horribly but 1080p should be good. Lol

I asked Rex about madden on the Xbox X at E3 and he told me directly that the Xbox X will run 4k 60 frames HDR. * I'm hoping HDR gets squeezed onto the Xbox S for the meanwhile*

HDR probably won't be pushed to Pro until 1X drops and I wouldn't be surprised if MS has a hand in this since they're in bed together with this vault/early access situation.*
Either way, I won't really benefit since my Pro still needs a 4K TV to be married to. Maybe after Black Friday, finally.

I don't believe any EA sports games are HDR. HDR is just as important as 4k. Hopefully it gets added.

i believe the Madden Xbox One X listing on the Microsoft site lists HDR as a feature for the enhanced version, so arguably, both PS4 and X1X should support HDR.

Also, really good that EA Clarified this, to put those conspiracy theories to rest.
