Time to think about the 2K cover curse?

Starting from NBA 2K14, are we seeing a trend of the cover athlete leaving their team after they're put on a 2k cover?
NBA 2K14 - Lebron leaves Miami that year
NBA 2K15 - Durant leaves the next year
NBA 2K16 - No changes
NBA 2K17 - Paul George leaves Pacers that year
NBA 2K18 - Kyrie leaves Cleveland
NBA 2K19 - All signs point to Lebron leaving Cleveland.

My bets on the 2K cover curse for 2K19 concluding to LeBron's retirement this offseason and 2K has the word from him behind closed doors on his plan to. I mean does it not look obvious from this edition with him and the motto included "they will know your name"? If he retired before 2K19 it would sellout more than any 2K before it's time.

NBA 2k7 Shaq gets injured
NBA 2k9 KG gets injured
NBA 2k11 Jordan's Bobcats go on to have a terrible season
NBA 2k12 Jordan's Bobcats tell the previous seasons team to hold their beer and go on to have an even worse season.
NBA 2k13 Derrick Rose Injury problems continue and he didn't play that entire season.
NBA 2k14 Heat lose to the spurs and Lebron leaves Miami for Cleveland.
NBA 2k15 Kevin Durant gets injured and misses the early part of the season they miss the playoffs and Scott Brooks gets fired.
NBA 2k16 Warriors blew a 3-1 lead, James Harden suffers something worse than the 2k curse the Kardashian curse, Anthony Davis gets a season ending injury and misses playoffs.
NBA 2k17 I can't really say anything really bad happened except maybe Paul George getting traded in the offseason.
NBA 2K18 Kyrie trade drama. He started the season strong then the surgery happened and he's ruled out and can't play in the playoffs.
