Big Brother 20

Yes, Big Brother is still around despite how bad last summer was (though Celebrity BB which has been renewed for S2, was actually decent). Premieres Wednesday June 27th at 8pm EST(2 hour show).

Knowing how BB has been like the past few years, what are peoples expectations? For me, I'm just hoping for the "real Big Brother" to return. Unfortunately, most of these seasons probably end up like 17,19 and so on. Showmances running the house, people too stupid to do anything good in the game, houseguests more focused on boosting their social media following over trying to win the game.

Heading into this season, my personal BB Rankings of the seasons I've seen:

7(AS),8,12,10,5 as "top tier"
Celeb,18,16,14,6,17,11 as "middle tier"
13,19,15,9 as "bottom tier"

Re: Big Brother 20

funny you say that about the CELEB edition.
I for one thought it was horrible.
I am showing my age here but it was the only season of BB that I didn't finish.

Re: Big Brother 20

Some news I read about this season, it sounds like many here might have just been alternates from last year. Further proving that they constantly cast from the same cookie cutter template each time. Every season you have certain stereotypes and lookalikes.

From a gameplay standpoint it might not have been good, but I found cast to be tolerable. At least it had some likable players, though best player didn't win, and having uneven number of men and women messed with things too.

Re: Big Brother 20

I really enjoy BB, my daughter and I have bonded over it thru the years.
We watch every episode together each season. We DVR them during the week and watch them all at once during the weekend.
That being said you are correct. The cast lately have been pretty predictable and caste from the same stone. That stone is "im here to be seen but not really play the game".
I am also over bringing back old contestants.
The have grown stale to me.
Bring in new people that want to play the game and are not concerned about their social media or being famous.

The problem on BB with this isn't the contestants they bring back. It's the fact that they always bring back old players to play with new players. That formula doesn't work so great. First time it was fine (Jessie in BB11) but after that it just became pointless. Rigging BB13 for the vets, BB14 giving the vets a big advantage for part of the game (I had no problem with the coach twist, IF they kept it for the entire season. But every last person watching the show KNEW the coaches would become players one day), then we started having family of HGs and so on after that, and then BB18 with another vet/newbie season and then BB19 with a vet and sheep.

The best season in BB history (not just my opinion, but opinions of many BB fans) was BB7. They was the only all-star season they've ever had and it was so great. Chilltown at their best. Even on Survivor, some of their best/most competitive seasons ever happened to be ones where you had all returning players(all stars, heroes vs villains, and second chance).

Re: Big Brother 20

I loved Season 7 too!
Loved Will on this show.
It still amazes me how good he was at BB.

Will was the better player, but I liked Boogie more. Watching their diary room highlights never gets old. Though he'd never return because you know the target would be way too big on him, even in an all vet season. Even boogie in BB 14 was targeted because Janelle was still mad at him for bb7.

There's so many deserving people who should return that haven't. Have all stars 2 one day.

Eric, Jen bb8
Keesha bb10
Enzo, Lane bb12
Dom bb13
Dani bb14
Amanda bb15
Caleb, Donny bb16
Vanessa, John bb17
Victor bb18
Jess, Christmas bb19
1 female from bbott

That's my pick if they ever had a new all star /second chance season

I hope they don't bring in any vets.
