Injured Reserve Designated for Return - How do you use it?

Does anyone know how this feature works or if it works at all? I'm wanting to put a player on IR but he'll only be out 6 weeks or so, I've never been able to figure out how to bring a player back though.

If it hasn't changed since 17, when the player is eligible to come back it should indicate a 'yes' for eligible to return, then activate him. In 17 (and I don't think in 18 either) you didn't designate someone who could come back, you just brought someone who was ready to come back out of your set of injured players. It did work in 17, I heard it worked in 18. I don't know if the game has the current rule which I think allows 2 players to return from IR in the NFL.

When you put a player on IR, he has to be out at least 8 weeks regardless of the injury timetable to return. So if he's injured for 6 weeks, even though he'll be healthy he'll still have to spend those extra two weeks on the IR before being eligible to return. To bring a player back I believe you just go to the injury report (or possibly just his player card) and make sure he has 'YES' select to return him from IR.
