Ohtani Question

My question is while playing in Franchise how do you get Ohtani to DH. I simulate majority of the Angels games and manual control all transactions etc and set the lineups? Since we cannot edit him and take away his option to pitch this season, is there a way he will DH since you cannot have him in the lineup? I tried lowering all pitching stats to zero & put him in the bullpen & that hasn't worked. Any ideas?

make sure he is in the rotation for the days where he is NOT pitching the day before the day of and the day after, and he will default to the DH when you start a game at the lineup screen.

so the day the number 1 pitcher in the rotation is pitching have Ohtani at number 3 in the rotation. move him to 4 the next day ect ect ect just keep moving him a day further in the rotation

Yes SCEA instead of making this easy and just making him a two way or a batter made this complicated and nowhere in the game does it explain how you do it either.

Re: Ohtani Question

Would it be possible for someone just to upload a DH version of Otani?

Lisac asked me in another thread to make a batter version of Ohtani so I’ll see if I can do that tonight.

Re: Ohtani Question

Actually I just stumbled to this.. the most recent update, May 10th.. Ohtani is a RF meaning he's no longer the pitcher in the game, so for players who wants him to DH only and not pitch just life IRL, this way works. But for franchise players, this will suck. But yeah don't have to worry about the workaround if you're using the newest update.

With this update can you still pitch with Ohtani? It would be nice to still have that option for Franchise when he starts pitching again in the 2020 season.

Unfortunately no. You could as a player pitching in the latter innings but he won’t have his stuff and probably windup.
