Neutral zone play...how is it?

I am still playing NHL 19 but want to buy NHL 20 as I really enjoy 19. My biggest problem in 19 is the ability to walk through the nuetral zone unimpeded by the defense with the puck. The offensive zones play fine to me. But the lack of pressure or anything in the nuetral zone just bothers me.

Has this been fixed or at least better in NHL 20? If not, is the game still worth buying as this is really the biggest gripe I had with NHL 19.

Totally different this year even on pro difficulty. Have to dump and chase a lot

That is great to hear! Maybe I can play with longer than 5min periods. I mean, I enjoy the fast paced and quick games with good amount of SOG...but it would be nice to actually have to work to get into the CPU's zone and work to get SOG. Dump and chase was something I never had to do. Only dumped if needed a line change. Thanks! Looking forward to reading other's opinions on this.

5 mins is perfect on pro difficulty. Even 6 min periods had too many goals to be honest. I use the overhead camera angle and have really been enjoying myself with this years game.

Re: Neutral zone play...how is it?

Sorry OP but I don't know what game the guy above is playing?
Little to nothing has changed in this regard to previous versions.
However I will agree that the game is flat out fun and the skating, shooting mechanics are the best they have ever been on this version.
To me 20 is a marked improvement over 19 but you will find that neutral zone play is very similar to all previous years.

Oh okay cool. I play on Pro difficulty as well so that's good. The SOG and goals were perfect with 5min periods to me. I just assumed if the nuetral zone play was fixed the minutes would need to increase because you'd have to work harder to get solid SOG.

LOL and this is why I said I looked forward to other's opinions on this matter. I figured it was probably wishful thinking that it was better. Not a huge deal I suppose. It allows me to keep my quick 5min period games that I enjoyed. Thanks for the response!

Is the shooting mechanics good for someone like me who uses Auto aim and the old NHL 94 controls, where square is wrist shot, and circle is slap shot (ps4)??

I find it hard to enter the zone. More so than years past. Thank you
