Simulating 10 years or 20 years, into the future in Madden 20.

I’ve recently started trying a new form of franchise mode, and that is the simulate into the future approach. First I tried the 10 year option, but not I am thinking of trying a 20 year sim into the future so that it’s a true fictional league.

What I end up doing is acting like a new nfl coach, and I select 4 teams who have underperformed (e.g. I’m taking over from a failing coach) or have a brand new coach (so I simply replace a rookie coach) and I make a determination on which team I will accept the job offer from.

I find I analyse the team in far more depth. I find that I’m excited about the possibility of growing with the new team, or adding the necessary pieces.

I use the tdawg XP settings so the league of the future feels more balanced, and I’m not looking for stars but rather the right pieces. I’ll take a veteran on a short deal because I know having a starter is beneficial over trying to force growth in a 25 year old who won’t get there (for example).

Does anyone else play a “future” franchise? If so, what has your experience been like? Do you have any particular house rules that you follow? Any other stories to share?

Is there a quick way to do this? Or do you literally have to sit and wait for an hour while it dims?

simulation much faster if you do an online franchise
