OFFLINE career mode delay

How is this even possible? I never play online and i still see this massive button delay. I’ll be moving the left analog stick and sometimes my players literally stand completely still for multiple seconds. Is this an issue for other people? Is there a fix? This is my first year playing FIFA and man this is a killer issue for me. What’s really odd is sometimes it’s WAY worse some games. I’d really appreciate any help I can get here.

Are you on console? I've had this issue.

This is on top of other issues - like I'm stuck with the transfer squads in all-new CM's I start unless I use the outdated squads with no real faces.
