Any way to clear career stats from imported players?

Anybody know of a trick to remove career stats when importing players from the vault or a franchise to a new roster? There is always the laborious process of making note of the player details and re-making the player over a no-stat generic player, but I'd rather not take the time to do that for 100+ players if there is a more efficient method...
